ABOUT US

The Diverse Roots Foundation (formerly Haiti Alberta Sports and Culture Club) is a Calgary-based non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting the Black community in Alberta while proudly sharing the richness of Haitian culture.

We bring people together through sports, education, cultural events, and family-centered activities that promote connection, wellness, and community pride.

OUR PURPOSE

We work to strengthen the Haitian community and the broader Black community by:

  • Creating inclusive programs that support youth, families, and newcomers

  • Promoting and celebrating Haitian arts, culture, and heritage

  • Supporting successful integration through education, mentorship, and leadership opportunities

  • Building partnerships that expand access to services, resources, and community support

  • Enhancing belonging, unity, and cultural understanding across Alberta
